In 1951 the builder Williams Levitt broke ground on an expansive woodland and farmland setting creating popular housing post-World War II. Young families moved out of Trenton and Philadelphia in droves to own a home of their own and the community of Levittown was born! Levitt created 17,311 homes in all from route 1 to Route 13.
Levittown holds a special place in my heart as many of my relatives bought into Levittown in the 1950's. My grandfather Charles Frey was one of the first owners in North Park and I remember walking to Manor Elemenary School for my first 6 years of school.
